Where Shelley comes from

Shelley Stephen is a Voice Over Artist, who gravitates to challenging and interesting subject matter. She specializes in Documentary Voiceover as well as Corporate and Industrial Narration. A lifelong Michigander, she and her husband have relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee where she has a long family history.

Shelley received a B.S., majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Business from the University of Michigan-Flint. After being hired at Ford Motor Company, she went on to get an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and an M.S. in Education/Instructional Design from Indiana University. During her long tenure at Ford, she spent many years in Information Technology, working with internal and external customers in Finance, Insurance, Human Resources, Medical and Manufacturing. She finished her tenure at Ford as an Instructional Designer.

Against this extensive backdrop, Shelley wields a powerful voice.

Her business and technical savvy have been employed by clients in corporate narration, presentations, videos, and branding voice over.

While working as an Instructional Designer, Shelley created and voiced many successful eLearning projects. And as a life-long learner herself, she took that curiosity and zest for knowledge to the acting and voiceover space. Her pursuit of performance opportunities has led her to the stage and film in addition to her audio-only work and she continues to hone her craft of reaching audiences.

Shelley’s professionalism and project management capabilities augment her diverse corporate background and give her a unique voice in her industry. Her facility with technical, difficult or dense material enhanced by her fun, playful and witty personality brings life to any subject. And she knows the value of delivering a quality performance on time and within budget while conveying exactly what her customers want and need.

When she’s not in the voice-over studio, Shelley enjoys a wide variety of hobbies including crafts of all kinds, although favorites are papercrafting, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch, playing computer games, creating 3D models for her virtual world avatars, acting and singing, and riding her Can-Am Spyder. Her husband, Terry, and studio cat, Crystal, and her interns Abby and Heather, come along for the ride that is Shelley!
